Introduction

The Xijing Times Center is a complex of buildings, consisting of two tall towers and two low-rise structures. The center of the building displays a "cross"-shaped cavity and the buildings are linked by transparent glass spaces. The ultra-white glass at the top shapes the city skyline, while the curtain wall is made up of gray granite stone and hollow glass arranged in a contemporary design, creating a unique texture for the building's exterior. From the perspective of the public and the street, the podium's public area still uses ultra-white glass as its main material, accentuating the modern feel of the office space.

The high-rise building presents a pure and standard three-dimensional rectangular structure, with no additional elements. During the day, it blends in with its surroundings and showcases its character through the details of its curtain wall materials. At night, horizontal linear lights accent the stone and hollow glass of the curtain wall, creating an abstract visual language that conveys the essence of the building.

Dan Flavin, a renowned American minimalist artist known for his fluorescent lamp sculptures and installations, inspired our design. As lighting consultants, we took advantage of this chance to examine the relationship between architecture and light, resulting in a distinctive and enhanced connection.

The programmed LED linear lights on the building's facade impart a vivid visual and cultural experience. The vibrant color lighting on the curtain walls creates a dynamic interplay between art and technology. The public can wander through contemporary time and space, fully immersing themselves in the abstract painting formed by the lighting lines.
